Summer is coming to an end...

It has been a while... January 2022 was the last time I posted. It's been a busy year and a half. Here is a break down of what has been going on in our lives...

April 2, 2022 our good friends moved to Bellingham. We helped them pack the rental truck on this day and spend the day with them. It was a good day before they moved. We do dinners once a month, so we are keeping that friendship going... We go there one month and they come here one month. It's great!

Abe got COVID on May 17, 2022 and 2 days later I caught it. Thankfully the kids were not home so we didn't spread it. It was a horrible time to catch it for the first time, but we managed. I had a harder time getting over it and having it during this time.

10 days after Abe caught COVID, the youngest's grandma passed away with Cancer. I was not able to be there with her and my heart was so heavy due to that. I was able to see her about 5 days after she passed, but it was not the same. I talked to her often as much as I could.

July 2022 - we went to Louisiana for a trip. My parents rented an airbnb for all their kids and grandkids. July 11-15th we were in Crystal Beach staying at this amazing house. If anyone wants a great place to stay down in Texas, this was incredible. Click here. There were 19 of us and it was just a wonderful vacation. Hardly anyone fought. It was such a big house, people were scattered. Some people enjoyed the air conditioner, some enjoyed reading outside, some enjoyed time at the beach, some enjoyed riding in the 6 person golf cart they rented for our stay, some people napped, some people went into town to browse the shops. The landlords provided us with a gift card for ice cream, so we took the kids for a few times to get ice cream. It was such a blessing to enjoy this time with my brothers, parents, nieces and nephews and sister n laws. Definitely a vacation none of us will ever forget.

We got back into town and on August 7th we had the celebration of life for the youngest's grandma. It was a great celebration. She was well loved.

September 6, 2022 the youngest started her first year of high school. She really enjoyed all of her classes and seemed to really enjoy her teachers.

December 10th, 2022 - we went to Abe's work party at the Puyallup fair grounds. We had a great time. It was a Christmas themed with lots of things to do. We had a blast. Lots of fun.

And the best thing of 2022 is this little love bug above was born. He is my great nephew. My 17 year old nephew had a baby with his girlfriend at the time. I absolutely LOVE this little boy. HE makes my heart so happy! I video chat him all the time and it's the best.

March 2023 - the youngest turned 15. We went to Mongolian Grill with my best friend and her entire family. IT was a great time. Over 15 people showed up and we just had a great time. On her actual birthday we took the day off and hung out with my best friend and her daughter. We did breakfast... played a murder mystery game and went to lunch at Trappers Sushi. We got Crumbl cookies and had dinner before heading home. IT was a great day!

June 9 - we all took the day off work and school and headed to Vancouver, WA. The oldest was graduating from high school on the 10th and we didn't want to drive after work. It was a great time. We stayed at a hotel and took her to dinner on the 9th. The 10th we got up and got ready and made sure she got to the bus on time and then headed to the graduation venue to get our seats. After the graduation we went to her aunts house down there for a small graduation party. It was nice.

June 22 - The kidd had her last day of her freshman year at High School. She finished her year with a 4.0 grade point average. I was so proud of her.

July 7 - my dad came into town.
July 8 - we had a barbecue at the kiddo's grandpa's house.
July 9 - we took dad to eat at Bahama Breeze and got Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.
July 11 - he left to go home with the kiddo in tow... She stayed down there for 2 weeks.
July 25 - I picked them back up and dad left the following day to head home.

August 19th - we had our graduation party for the oldest. She spent the week before the party with us and it was just a great time having her home. We had about 35 people at the house. It was a great time.

August 20th - we went to the youngest's grandpa's house for a barbecue. Her cousin Ethan was in town from England. He moved there last October and that was a hard time. But it was so great to see him one last time before he headed home. The oldest went home with her mom and the youngest stayed with her dad until right before school started.

September 6 - the kiddo started her first day of 10th grade. She seems to be okay with her teachers so far. No complaints other than kids being slow walkers at school. Hahahahaha.

All and all, things have been going great. Having an adult child is hard. We are learning to give her grace for being an adult and wanting to do more things on her own, we just miss her. We see her every 3 months or so. That has been the hardest part... She stopped coming every other week on her 18th birthday. It's been an adjustment, but we are doing good considering.
