And just like that... our time together was ending...

I was not ready to bring my dad to the airport much less have him leave. It went by too fast. We had a wonderful weekend visiting. We talked about as much as we could think of and it was just such a refreshing weekend for my soul.

My dad had to be at the airport at 6:30, so I was up at 5 to visit and spend every second I could with him before we brought him to the airport.

This drop off was the hardest one ever. Going that long without seeing him was hard, but bringing him back was even harder. But this weekend I cherished every single second with my dad.

The kiddo decided to stay with me one more day and she was up early to go take her PawPaw to the airport. The first picture is our last picture together and the second one is shortly after getting home. The kiddo was so tired.

The weekend went by fast, but now we have our next visit in November to look forward to. This trip my mom will be with my dad and they will be here for 7 days. Oh man, I can not wait for that visit and all those hugs and laughs and talks.

Thanks dad for this past weekend. It meant more to me than you will ever know. And I am so proud of you guys for pulling off this surprise! It was the BEST!

A beautiful sunset dinner...

In talking with my dad, he told me that he just really wanted to come for a visit. He didn't want to wait until November. It was such a great surprise. The funny part about all of this... my mom told me on Monday that I had a package coming to work on Friday. I was talking to my kiddo and I told her right before lunch time that I hope the package comes today. (Our mail guy is not the best and we never know if we are going to get mail at work every day...) I told him after hugging him... HEY... YOU ARE THE PACKAGE coming to my work today. HA!

We didn't do too much while my dad was here. We spent most of the time just visiting and enjoying our time together. Saturday we went to return his rental car. He didn't need it. We went to the grocery store to get a few things for the next few days and for the next week for Abe and I.

We made reservations to go have dinner at Anthony's. It was on the water and our reservation was at 8:15. Later than I like to eat dinner, but PERFECT timing for the beautiful sunset that we were able to enjoy. Dinner was absolutely delicious as well. But the company was EVEN better.

What a wonderful surprise...

I have not seen my parent's since we flew home from our trip there December 2019. How it has been for a while now, is we will fly down south one year and the following year my parents will fly up here. Well, COVID happened and their trip here did not happen.

Here we are... 2021 and COVID is slowly going down in cases and more cities and states are opening back up and getting things back to as normal as they can be. That being said, my parents booked their trip to come up here to see us and see our new house. I have been counting down the days... I have never gone this long without seeing my parents and boy does my heart hurt because of it.

Well... let's go back to June 25th. My kiddo and I were at my work. She was finishing her last day of school and I was chugging along at work. It was going to be one of the hottest weekends we have ever had in WA state, but we had our AC ready to go and ready to enjoy our weekend.

Someone walked into my office and I turned and said "Good afternoon, I will be right with you" and I turned back around. This gentleman had his mask on and I didn't really focus on his face. I did see he was holding his cell phone in front of his face and I thought that was weird. I was about to turn back around, when my kiddo said in a louder voice... MOM. I turned around and really looked at this man... I turned around and put my head in my hands and just cried.

MY DAD was in my office. He was standing just a few feet away from me. My kiddo got up and gave him a super big hug and when I was able to compose myself, I got up and said, what are you doing here... and walked over to him. That hug was the best hug EVER! My heart was exploding with happiness. I was still confused on what he was doing here, but I didn't care. My daddy was here. I called my boss and told him I had to leave early and explained what was going on. My kiddo left her class early and emailed her last class teacher and told him she wouldn't be in class and we were off to head to my house.

Here is a picture of the 3 of us before we headed home... WHAT a wonderful surprise and one I will never ever forget. I love this man with my whole heart and this visit was so needed.
