So, I got the vaccine so I can hug my parents in November when they fly to visit us. My husband got the vaccine because I really wanted him to, so he could be protected because he is considered higher risk than healthier people.
My husband received the Pfizer vaccine. The first shot he got his arm was sore and the following day he was super duper fatigued. After his second shot, it was about the same thing, however his arm was way more sore this time around. We relaxed and I had him rest all day. He was very tired. Each time he went, he was in and out within an hour.
I received the Moderna vaccine. Kaiser sure knew what they were doing. Both times I went, I was in and out within 30 minutes. Talk about on the ball. The first shot my arm was pretty sore. It was hot to the touch and just sore. I had a mild headache, but earlier in the day I had an allergy attack and once I started my allergy meds that got better, so I can't say for sure if it was the vaccine or my allergies. I was tired, but nothing too bad. A week after my first shot, I got what they call COVID arm. My arm got really red and hurt pretty bad, but it only lasted less than 24 hours.
My second shot however, was a bit different. I felt great. I didn't feel the needle go in at all and my arm didn't hurt right away like last time. I got my shot at 10 am. Around 4 pm, on the same day as my shot, my arm got super sore and I was very tired. I figured, if this was the worst woo hoo! Well, that was not the case. Sunday comes around and I was just off all day long. I was super tired and just foggy all day long. 4 pm the day after my shot and I started getting body aches and chills. It was not fun, but I knew it would pass. I went to bed around 7:30 pm I had a super horrible migraine and was super tired. I sweated so much during the night and my sleep was horrible. The next day I took off just to be able to sleep in. I woke up around 9 and the aches and chills were gone. The headache and tiredness was still there, but not as bad. I relaxed at home and on day 3 after my shot, I was back to normal.
All and all, we survived and now if we get COVID, our symptoms might not be as bad as if we were not vaccinated and bonus... I GET TO HUG MY MOM AND DAD IN NOVEMBER! I am so ready!
