Who I am...

If you are new here and you don't know me... here is a little bit of who I am.

I was born and raised in Southwest Louisiana. I have 2 amazing parents and 2 older brothers, who are now happily married to 2 amazing women. And between the 4 of them, they gave me 10 nieces and nephews. I was also raised around a lot of family. To be exact, 3 aunts, and 13 cousins, who then started families of their own and I was around most of them, most of the time. Life growing up had its ups and downs, but I had a good childhood.

When I was 19, I met my ex-husband on the internet and decided to move to Washington State. Was I crazy, probably? I know... a lot of people were not happy with me and I disappointed some as well. But, I felt like it was needed. I had just lost another cousin to suicide and I was just lost. 7 years after moving up to Washington I married my ex. 2 years later we had our beautiful baby girl, who I will refer to on this blog as C. A year later, we decided to separate and get a divorce. It was the hardest decision of my life and one of the hardest things I have ever had to go through. And I have been through some stuff! (Yes, I still get along with my ex, probably better now than ever before. Yes, I love love love his wife, my kid's stepmom... And yes... I will talk about their daughter, who I love more than I ever thought I could and I will call her Little J on here. More on this and our blended family later...)

December 2010, I met my current husband. A single divorced father of a little girl. I wasn't sure what would come of our relationship, but I knew early on he was a keeper. We didn't introduce the girls together right away. We wanted to wait to see where things were going. 6 months later, the girls met and I am not sure about the oldest, who I will call I on here, but my 3 year old C was very happy and LOVED her new friend.

Fast forward to today... We have been married for 8 years. This December will be our 10 years of being together. The best part of our story... Our kiddos get along so well. And now that we are in our own house and they have their own bedrooms, it seems like they get along even better... My heart truly is so very happy. (Yes, I know it's 2020 and it has been a hot mess this year, but my heart is happy and I choose to look at all my blessings instead of all the stresses this year has brought.)

The week we met.

Our wedding day...

December 2019, when we went to Louisiana for Christmas.
